Rube Goldberg Project-
Rocket Project:Project Description-
For this project we had to design a bottle rocket out of plastic bottles. The bottle rocket had to have a rocket design, fins, a parachute, and a nose cone. The rocket has to be a rocket that NASA could use as their new rocket. This project was so fun and very hands on learning. Mikkel Person was my partner for this project. Project Reflection- During Mikkel and I’s rocket launch the destroyer (launch pad) stopped working so during the first launch we did our rocket launched sideways, that launch didn’t work well at all. Then we launched it a second time, that time the rocket went pretty high but the parachute didn’t deploy. So we asked Mr. Heerschap is we could launch it a third time. The third time it went pretty high and the parachute deployed.
Our rocket worked really well the third time, I think this was because I didn’t have our parachute stuffed in the nose cone. Instead we had it open and just set the nose cone on top and it worked well. Our design worked really well, and we apoxide it well so when it hit the ground during testing and the first two launches it didn’t break, which was a good thing. If I was going to change our rocket I would have probably added another short chamber made out of a “smart water” water bottle. Before I went and put our rocket on the launch pad I was scared because I didn’t want it to blow up. I also felt confident and prepared that our rocket was going to work. The second and third time we launched our rocket I was super excited to launch it. After we launched it the third time I wanted to launch it again because it was so fun to shoot rockets in the air. |
