Brave New World Updated 5-7-12
For this project we read a book called Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. We had to create a piece of writing that was true, piercing, and beautiful. We also had to create a visual that we with our paper or was our perspective on BNW. If you want to read my paper or learn about this project more in depth click on the link below.
This is the visual I made in Digital Arts for the BNW project.
Flash Animation
We used flash to create an animation that connected with the art history we learned about. I did mine about a flower that grows after the ice melts.
1. Something that blew your mind from lecture? One thing that blew my mind from lecture was stone hedge, I thought it was very interesting how they used it to tell time. I also thought it was funny that they believed aliens made it.
2. Your process learning Flash. My process learning flash was first figuring out what I wanted yo make my movie about then I had to create all my backgrounds and items in photoshop. Then I had to learn how to make a motion tween, like when my caveman moves across the screen, and I had to learn how to make a shape tween, when the name of my animation turns into my name. After that I had to export it into an SWF file.
3. Your favorite part of Adobe Flash and why you like it? I really didn't like flash at all, it was so frustrating and annoying, but if I had to choose one thing that I enjoyed about flash it would have to be that you could make things in photoshop and put it into flash really easily.
4. Explain a time/project when you see yourself using Flash again. I know that I will never use flash again if I dont have to.

Here is my animation with music.
Xtranormal Animation
For this project we had to practice making an animation by using xtranormal.com. During this project i had to start over many times to make my animation better. While I was making this video I had to use different tools. The tools I had to use was camera angle, motions, faces, look-eats, points, pauses, and sounds. I thought that this project was frustrating but it was fun in a way. I am excited to start creating my actual animation.
Self Portrait
For our latest project we created a self portrait that reflected us as a person. We were aloud to make this self portrait however we wanted to as long as we used Photoshop. For mine I used a picture of me swimming that my grandma Debra Parmenter took. I changed one filter and put a quote on it. The quotes says: "You don't get what you wish for, you get what you work for." This is one of the quotes I live by.

Teacher Poster: Project Reflection-
Why did you like this project? I liked this project because I got to put one of my teacher's head on to something else. I also became very familiar with Photoshop and all the thing that you can do with Photoshop. Why do you think you were successful at this project? I think that the reason I was successful at this project was because I asked for help when I needed it. Another thing is that I knew what most of the tools, that could be used for this project, were. What would you recommend to an incoming freshmen before starting this project? I would recommend that you ask for help when you don’t get something because it will help you understand Photoshop is better. I also recommend that you pay attention to the lessons that Roxy gives you on Photoshop because it will help you out a lot. If you were going to do this project again, what Adobe Photoshop skill would you really push yourself on? I would push myself to work on refinement because that way my project would be much better. Description of Project- For this project you had to put one of your teacher’s head on another body, person or animal. You had to make it look like the head really belonged on the other body. Also you needed to put your picture on a new background and add other objects to the person or background. |
